About Terengganu

Terengganu is a sultanate state of federal Malaysia. The states are also known by its Arabic honorific, Darul Iman ("abode of faith"). The coastal city of Kuala Terengganu, at the mouth of the broad Terengganu River, is both the state royal capital and is the largest city in Terengganu.


Kemaman is a district in Terengganu, Malaysia. It is situated on the coast of the South China Sea. Kemaman is administered by the Kemaman Municipal Council. The town of Chukai is Kemaman's administrative and economic centre.

Kemaman's economy is primarily based on the petroleum and oil industry. The discovery of oil in offshore Terengganu in 1980s has attracted immigration to Kemaman from rural areas as well as other parts of the country. Kemaman is home to the deepest seaport in Malaysia.

There is also a new developed zoo in Kemaman which offers many variety of wildlife for the tourists and locals. It is also the first zoo in east coast region of Peninsular Malaysia.

There is a mini sport stadium in Kemaman, besides kayaking, in Bakau Tinggi. For windsurfer or kite surfer, you can make use of all Kemaman public beaches (Teluk Kalung, Pantai Penunjuk, Geliga and others) which was also provide place for beach soccer.

Nasi Dagang is glutinous rice, white or pinkish, cooked in coconut milk and served with fish curry, cucumber, pickle and coconut sambal. More recent accompanying items include chicken and seafood cooked in curry.Various confectionery type and traditional food is here. With side dish way cake, bepang, saggong, anthill flour, layer cake, akok, muffin, and ketupat palas.
