We established in 2004 in response to the growing needs for professionals and skilled personnel in the fields of maritime, safety, offshore, logistics and hospitality in the region. RANACO opens its doors to all who wish to improve their career prospects via our unique industrial education and training concept. RANACO Marine Sdn. Bhd. established the RANACO Education & Training Institute, an institute of higher learning under the Institute of Higher Education Act (1996). All RETI’s programs are accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency. Our unique concept of providing industry certificates to all of our graduates is to ensure they are ready to enter the industry. This is proven when more than 75% of our graduates of employed on the field within 6 month upon completion. (TracerStudy by Ministry of Higher Education).
We recognize that industries wish to employ graduates with knowledge, competencies, soft skills and proactive safety skills. However, industries do not have sufficient resources to train their own employees. To remedy this, RETI link and match education and training programs to the requirements of our in-house and external network industries, in addition to the industrial certificate that we provided for each program.
All our program in RETI are highly industry oriented and we are been recognized by programs conducted in RETI are recognized by.

Our founder, the late Captain Dr. Ramlan bin Ramli, was a Ship Captain who offered services to the maritime industry. This includes the shipping insurance, offshore, petrochemical as well as occupational health and safety industries. He was also an international consultant in this field. His outstanding service entitled him to the status of Captain of a merchant ship when he was only 28 years old. After obtaining a Master’s degree from the School of Navigation, a leading maritime academy in Indonesia, he completed his PhD, earning the title of Dr. He was once appointed as a Part-time Lecturer and Advisor of the council of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, proving his dedication in deepening and further developing the country’s maritime field. At the international level, he was once called upon to represent Indonesia in the International Maritime Organization organized by the United Nations and also tasked to develop a security’s act in the maritime field.
As the International Maritime Organization (IMO) introduced more legislations to regulate the shipping and maritime industry, Allahyarham Captain Dr. Ramlan realized that there was an urgent need to provide appropriate education and training to improve and enhance the competency levels of the players in the industry. Therefore, he took the initiative to establish the RANACO Education and Training Institute (RETI) in 2004. He passed away on 24th July 2014.
